Slovak-based gaming company Pixel Federation will partner with the B&O Railroad Museum for the next chapter in its “Save the Rails” initiative. Save the Rails connects the 80 million players of its TrainStation game franchise with real-world railway preservation efforts. The partnership arrives just in time for America’s 250th Independence Day celebration and will be showcased live at the museum on July 4th.

The B&O Railroad Museum will celebrate America’s 250th birthday on July 4, 2026, with the 250th All-American Bash — a day of celebrating American history with live music, food, and family fun running from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The B&O Railroad Museum today announced it has been awarded a $500,000 grant through the State of Maryland’s Road to Careers initiative, part of a $4 million investment announced by Maryland Governor Wes Moore to expand workforce training opportunities across the state’s transportation and construction industries.

In honor of Black History Month, the B&O Railroad Museum will unveil the newly restored Baltimore & Ohio Railroad No. 3316 “Washington” on Saturday, February 21, from 11 am to 3 pm. Built in 1949 by the Pullman-Standard Car Manufacturing Company, the No. 3316 is an observation tavern car that represents both the height of luxury rail travel and the enduring legacy of African American railroad workers who made that experience possible.

The B&O Railroad Museum, the birthplace of American railroading, will mark a milestone in its history on Wednesday, May 14, with a groundbreaking ceremony for its Campus Transformation Plan, in preparation for the 200th anniversary of American railroading in 2027.
