Guided by the principle that the birthplace of American railroading and the history of the B&O Railroad belong to us all, the National Museum of Railroad History & Innovation is proud to host a variety of events designed to welcome and engage members of our local community.
Partnerships
Groundwork Kitchen
The National Museum of Railroad History & Innovation and Paul's Place joined to launch Groundwork Kitchen Café at the B&O, offering healthy menu options for children and adults alike. Groundwork Kitchen is a full-service restaurant and catering company that offers free culinary training for individuals interested in a career in hospitality. Their free 12-week workforce development program was created in 2021 in an effort to transform lives, disrupt poverty, and offer life skills and career training to nourish the community through food.
B-360
The National Museum of Railroad History & Innovation is proud to help support the efforts of B-360, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering and uplifting youth in our local communities through dirt biking. It has been our honor to offer one of the Museum’s supplementary parking areas as a safe space for B-360 to help young Baltimoreans develop not only their dirt-biking abilities, but also their technical skills and career readiness, while keeping them from harmful situations and improving overall outcomes.
Maryland 529
Maryland 529 College Savings Plans helps put you, your child, or another loved one on the path to success. Maryland 529 is a proud sponsor of the B&O Junior Junction.
Union Baptist Church
A historic fellowship located in the heart of the Upton community in Baltimore and partners to the Museum's African American Railroading Oral Archive.
The Painted Screen Society of Baltimore
Marrying two of Baltimore’s proudest traditions – screen painting and railroading – the Museum hosts an annual exhibit of works by members of the Painted Screen Society of Baltimore in the B&O’s Roundhouse with screen painting workshops and demonstrations.
Greater Baltimore History Alliance
The Museum is a proud member of The Greater Baltimore History Alliance, a consortium of Baltimore area history museums dedicated to preserving, interpreting, and promoting local heritage through collaborative community services and educational programs.
