The Past. The Present. The Possible. - National Museum of Railroad History & Innovation

F.A.Q.s About Our Name Change

Names should reflect purpose. As the nation prepares to commemorate the 200th anniversary of American railroading in 2027, the Museum is embracing a name that better represents its vision while honoring the place where American railroading began. The National Museum of Railroad History & Innovation reflects both the Museum’s historic responsibility to preserve America’s railroad legacy and its commitment to exploring the ideas and technologies shaping rail’s future.

That vision is captured in the Museum’s new brand promise: The Past. The Present. The Possible. It reflects the Museum’s commitment to preserving the remarkable history that began here nearly 200 years ago, exploring rail’s vital role today, and inspiring the innovations and possibilities that will shape its future.
